Tax Sale General Information

During the month of May or June, the Cache County Auditor holds an annual tax sale for delinquent properties in the Cache County Multipurpose Room, 179 North Main, Logan, Utah.   If delinquent tax payments are not made in full prior to March 31st, additional expenses include: advertising, title report, mailing costs, recording costs, and deed issuance. 

 

Notice of the next tax sale date will be posted when it is determined.

 

Properties are offered for sale (unless redeemed prior to sale) at a public auction and sell to the highest bidder for cash or certified check, under the provisions of Section 59-2-1351.1.  No bids will be accepted for an amount less than the outstanding balance that includes taxes, interest, penalty, and administrative costs. In the case of improved property, a bid for less than the market value and the total amount of taxes interest, penalty, and administrative fees which are a charge upon the real estate will not be accepted.   Properties with improvements are noted.  Any amount received in excess of the taxes, interest, penalty, and administrative costs will be treated as surplus property and paid to the State Treasurer.
